URA Opens Emergency Application for the Demonstration Program
The URA’s “Emergency” application for the Demonstration Program, a program of the Housing Opportunity Fund, is now open for interested organizations seeking funding to address emergency housing needs.
The program application is available to not-for-profit agencies and developers, as well as for-profit developers with a nonprofit partner. Applications from individuals for personal housing needs will not be accepted. To qualify for funding, emergencies must affect multiple homes, properties, or families and must not be addressable via preexisting URA programs.
URA staff and the Housing Opportunity Fund Advisory Board will review applications on a biweekly basis. Funding will be awarded in the form of a grant.
“This funding is meant to provide immediate intervention for unexpected housing emergencies in the City,” said URA Chief Housing Officer Quianna Wasler. “Our goal with these dollars is to directly assist nonprofit agencies who are supporting vulnerable residents that are most in need of support as urgent situations arise.”
Interested applicants can review the program guidelines and apply here. The Emergency application is open on a rolling basis, until the funding has been depleted.
