URA and City of Pittsburgh Selected to Participate in the NYU Furman Center’s Housing Solutions Lab
The City of Pittsburgh was chosen, along with six other mid-sized cities, to take part in the NYU Housing Solutions Lab Home Repair Peer Network. The focus of this program is to advance equity, health and opportunity. The 2024 Home Repair Peer Network will support seven city teams through virtual and in-person learning, technical assistance and strategy to advance more effective and equitable home repair programs.
The program launched in June 2021. Including this year's cohort, 19 cities have participated so far. Topics such as homelessness, affordable housing and residential segregation, are a few of the housing issues that this program addresses by working with the selected cities to develop equitable housing policies.
"The URA is thrilled to take part in this program. We are so happy that our city was one of seven cities selected from 40 applicants to participate. The focus of the program aligns with the work we are doing at the URA to address Pittsburgh’s housing challenges, and we are excited to enhance the work we are doing with what we learn while participating in this program,” said Derek Kendall-Morris, URA manager of consumer lending.
