N3D Carrick a Success? You Bet Your Fern

October 2017 Newsletter

Which grilled cheese did you get? This cocktail is delicious! Check out my milk carton. It's Jengantic. Look at that sky behind the band! Those are just a few lines overheard at the N3D Carrick Friday night Kick-off Party on September 15, held at the Dairy District Pavilion on Brownsville Road.

It was a perfect evening under a magical sky as the crowd of 300+ mixed, mingled and made new friends. Guests munched on grown-up grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup dippers from Oh My Grill; sipped craft cocktails by Pop Up Embury; cooled off with refreshing beverages from Turner Dairy; enjoyed performances by DJ April, Cathasaigh, and The Telephone Line; got their game on thanks to City of Play; made and decorated milk cartons with Pop Craft; and perused colorful and clever buttons by Pittsburgh Buttoneer.

The beautiful weather continued the next day as 400+ festival goers were wowed by performances by the world-famous Tamburitzans, an amazing tiny Bhutanese dancer, and the crowd-pleasing, party-brass-thunder-funk machine, Beauty Slap. The family-friendly event included tater tots and pierogies from Square Café; a kid’s CornFest area; local vendors and organizations; a people’s choice bake-off by TBSP; neighborhood history and tours; arts and crafts by Paint Monkey; facepainting; a farm stand; and the N3D Home Buyer and Homeowner Resource Fair.

N3D wrapped up on Sunday with 50 people touring the 18 open houses.
