Background
Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ) applications are due on September 15, 2021 and are awarded on December 15 of each year. A company is eligible for up to 50 percent of the increase in gross revenue from year to year up to $100,000 in tax credits that may be sold or transferred. Targeting industries include: entrepreneurial development (e.g. information technology, life sciences, advanced materials, finance/service sectors, advanced manufacturing, agricultural, nanotechnology, etc.)
Research & Development Tax Credit Program (R&D) applications are due on September 15 each year. Companies receive 10% of the increase in spending on R&D from the average spending of the previous 4 years. Smaller companies qualify for a 20% credit. Tax credits may be sold or assigned and applied to the following: Capital Stock/Foreign Franchise Tax, Corporate Net Income Tax, and Personal Income Tax.
